Musical Talent, Help?
Jan. 16th, 2005 11:04 pmMusical Talent, Help?
What do you do with a little guy (almost 23 months) who insists that Mom & Dad sing different songs simultaneously? We only know 4 songs (two of which are Dreidel, Dreidel and Hannukah, because of the recent holidays). The kid has been insisting that I sing the Dreidel song while
gizbot sings Hanukkah. I'm going to have to introduce him to the "rounds" that allow us to sing the same song with a time delay.
There is only one problem with all this musical education. I can't carry a tune, and
gizbot can't keep a beat. So poor little guy has to put up with our out of tune, and randomly timed singing.
So here is the "help" part of the post. Any suggestions where we could have the little guy take some classes? He's obviously completely fascinated by singing, and I really don't want him to learn from us. My Dad used to sing in a fairly well known choir (pre-puberty) so there is a chance the kid has talent. As for me, I got an A in a music class for promising to only mouth the words, and not sing out loud during the performances. Yeah, I'm that bad at singing.
