So I volunteered to be a small claims court pro tem judge. I figured I should do some community service type stuff, and there aren't too many poor people lining up for patents.

My first sitting will be on June 29th in Los Gatos. I'm looking forward to it. I think I'll visit the small claims court on the 28th, to see what I'm supposed to be doing. Has anyone been in small claims court? Any suggestions?

Hm. Oh my. Our very own "Judge Judy." (: Sorry, I couldn't resist. I've never been in small claims court to do anything but watch (and I was little back then). It actually sounds like it could be pretty fun. Good luck!

So, how much /do/ judges cost nowadays, anyway? :)

Heh, I'm a volunteer. Does that make judges free? If you mean bribing judges, that's expensive. You're better of purchasing an elected official or two, and changing the law. They're not risking their ticket (license to practice law)...

Better still, there are mechanisms for buying elected officials that are almost supposed to work.
