Update to previous whine...

Apparently, my coworker (the one who "helpfully" pointed out that I had a baby) thought I was planning to refuse the offer to take over the project, and was trying to help me, by pointing out that I was very busy as is. In other words, clueless and trying to be nice, not evil or planning for herself.

In other news, I have way more work than I have time. I really don't want to work this three day weekend... but I may take Monday at work. For some reason the past two weeks have been filled with phone calls, urgent emails, and other projects that took 5 minutes to do, and actually took me 15 minutes from including finding the file, working 5 minutes, making notations on the file, and getting back to work. This leads to really bad billables... not to mention a complete lack of actual patent work coming out of my office. Maybe the coworker is right & I have too much to do.

But given a choice, I'd rather go be social this weekend. Decisions, decisions.

Heh. Welcome to hell, the water's fine.

My 10pm call did not reach a successful resolution, so there will be at least three more planning calls tomorrow, almost certainly leading up to another customer call sometime over the weekend.

Whee...

Eeeeee. I'm sorry. I hope things can get resolved a.s.a.p. in the least painful manner, whatever it is at this point, and you can enjoy the rest of the weekend undisturbed.

It's a consolation when people are being clueless instead of intentionally mean, but the baby comment was still utterly stupid. Sounds like maybe you do have too much work... If you really want to do that project, can you offload any of your current work on someone else?

Not that it's any help at this point [it being lateish Sunday], but I've found that getting some enjoyment in on the weekend vastly improves my feelings about the next week at work. Of course this has nothing at all to do with the queue of things that Must Be Done (tm) here :)
