We're going to a wedding this weekend. It's after all summer and wedding season. We're talking to a number of people getting divorced too. Maybe it's divorce season.

It seems that by age category we're entering divorce season. I'm 35, and many of my friends got married in the past four years. As all those stats point out, many marriages end within the first four. Alas, it appears to be very true in my circle. Someone pointed out that my friends are either getting divorced or breeding. I guess on the upside those that are breeding are doing OK so far.

And at least that's not a breeding AND getting divorced. I can't even imagine how much more difficult things would have been with that issue.

Well, as long as they pick one or the other.

Heh. My observation has simply been that partnerings, severings, spawnings and home ownership go in spates - and have been since people were doing three of the four of those at a distressingly young age.

Given that I live in Silicon Valley I will assume that what the young'uns didn't do is home ownership.

It does seem to go in spurts doesn't it. I wonder why. Does seeing someone else do it trigger a wish to do it yourself?

I *definitely* think that seeing someone else actually going through with it triggers people around them to do an internal state check of their own relationships, and puts any that are teetering on the fence in real peril, simply because people do some perfectly rational math and decide to bail based on getting a bad answer.
