We had a House Party for Kerry. Well, it was at our house, but [livejournal.com profile] whumpdotcom did all the organizing and setup, and [livejournal.com profile] selkiediver did all the baking. We just hosted. But we raised a bit of money. And, most amazingly, the house is back in reasonable shape. Yay! Hopefully the money won't be needed (it's for legal challenges after the election)... but I have a bad feeling that we'll need to raise more after the 2nd.

You'll need to ask someone more knowledgeable about the workings of campaign finance such as [livejournal.com profile] ala_too, but the money raised is for the General Election Legal and Accounting Compliance fund so not only will it cover legal expenses, but pay for auditing campaign expenditures.

thanks. I'm just curious. I always like to know where things go when they're allocated for something that could possibly not occur.

Thanks for hosting the party! It wouldn't have worked out nearly as well had you not done so.

Still, that cardboard Kerry was freaky. One of the things I learned to do as a child when I had nightmares was to turn the "bad guys" into cardboard and knock them over. I guess that's why I wanted to knock the cardboard Kerry over, but that would have defeated the purpose of the party. (:
