Psychic Friends
Jan. 5th, 2004 02:34 amI've been a social butterfly this past weekend, and it's been fabulous. Twice in a row, friends called me out of the blue, and said "want to be social?" In one case, Soo called me literally minutes after I said to Charles "I want to be social this evening. Who should we call?" Takeout and chatting was very cool. We passed on one of our favorite books on career searches, "Do What You Are" which provides suggested careers based on the Myers-Briggs personality test. Possibly flakey, but it really nailed both Charles and my job preferences.
Then, today, we met Olga and Mark for dinner and a movie. Since Andrew is a little too young for movies yet, we left him with my parents. We watched "Big Fish" which was Munchhauseneque Tim Burton movie.
This makes for our Second Date, since Andrew was born. That's pretty pathetic, given that he's over 10 months old. But we had fun in any case.
I'm hoping to continue this excellent trend, and generally be more social on the weekends. I also realize that Charles and I need to take the occasionally evening off from the baby, and go out on dates. All of our friends who have kids say this... but it's hard. My parents usually don't like babysitting in the evenings, and we don't have a regular babysitter yet.
