Spinoza is great. Jeremy Bentham is, too. I think of them both in the J.S. Mill class near the top, but there are probably billions of unfeted women and men who have followed their rationalism. I see Spinoza mostly in the Religious Society of Friends, but to a lesser extent in other religions. Scriptural literalists (fundamentalists or evangelicals) are the polar opposite, which is why they frighten me.
