Eye of Argon & other Bad bad writing

At brunch we were discussing bad writing (not to mention the upcoming Bad Porn Interpretive Reading Event, found by Craig). [livejournal.com profile] bellicaneko mentioned that she used to attend a reading of Eye of Argon, something I had had never heard of. But, of course, like so much bad writing, it's online (see link above).

I found this gem through the Bulwer-Lytton opening sentences contest whose 2004 winner came up with this stinker: She resolved to end the love affair with Ramon tonight . . . summarily, like Martha Stewart ripping the sand vein out of a shrimp's tail . . . though the term "love affair" now struck her as a ridiculous euphemism . . . not unlike "sand vein," which is after all an intestine, not a vein . . . and that tarry substance inside certainly isn't sand . . . and that brought her back to Ramon.

Yes, I'm easily amused. I'm also avoiding work. Bad me.
