Next Week Will Be Interesting....

[livejournal.com profile] gizbot and the little guy are heading out of town for a whole 10 days! They're leaving on Tuesday, and returning on Thursday the following week. They are off to Maine, to camp. I'm not a big fan of camping, and I really can't get time off from work right now. So, I'm staying home. Which means I'm going to have 10 days without a baby! I don't even remember what I used to do with my time, before the whole house, marriage, baby.

So, suggest something fun for me to do during the week. I will be working, of course, but interesting evening plans would be great. Hopefully I'll do something entertaining on the weekend too. If nothing else comes up, I might just go down to Santa Cruz and stare at the ocean. I haven't done that in much too long.

  • Go down to Santa Cruz and stare at the ocean (duh!) ;-)
  • Lie in bed or in a comfy chair and read a good book.
  • Put on a movie or some music that you like but [livejournal.com profile] gizbot doesn't.
  • Rent a dance instruction video and practice with it. Hey, if you're alone, nobody can see you make a fool of yourself!
  • If you have any musical instruments you'd like to try playing, now's your big chance. If it sounds like crap, who cares?
  • Go to a spa and pamper yourself. Watercourse Way in Palo Alto is a great place to get a massage.
  • Shop for something that's fun for you but boring for the guys.
  • Spend a night out with some of your friends you don't get to hang with as much since the baby came into your life.
  • Sleep -- because you can.

Hey, with 10 days, you could come out here to the Philippines and stare at the ocean with me! (:

And if you want to learn to dance, pick me!

You know, you seem pretty much up on your life thangs, and well integrated--you don't miss things you can't take Mr. A to (and he's such a party animal flirt, he's more likely to want to stay at the party than you are after a hard day's work. So there's very little you can do without him that you do with him.)

Hire a housecleaner to spruce up the house; arrange to have good food brought in, plan a few refreshing social events, and go kick work's ass with your undivided attention for a week.

Or come out to Shoreline and relax on the lawn while Alanis whines and BNL makes you laugh.
